Power in Prayer
The above phrase is used quite often in churches and Christian circles…and for good reason! If there is one theme we have been seeing lately, it is evidence of this truth. Christ explained to His disciples, “that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven” (Matt. 18:19). Christians all over this nation recently took hold of that promise by uniting our hearts for the National Day of Prayer.
In its essence, prayer is simply communicating with God. It is powerful to hear testimonies of answered prayer: healing from sickness, comfort in tragedy, lost loved ones coming to Christ, and peace in uncertain circumstances. If you’re still seeking that answer, don’t give up – James reminds us that the fervent prayers of the righteous will bring about results (Jas 5:16), and Paul urged his followers to “pray without ceasing” (1 Thess. 5:17). Be encouraged and assured that God hears your prayers, and desires for you to trust Him in all things.
